Rocks-Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic
Students will learn about the three forms of rocks, and how they are made. We will discuss felsic and mafic igneous rocks, as well as the difference between extrusive and intrusive igneous rocks in how and where they were formed. The video discusses how sedimentary rock is formed through weathering, erosion, and deposition. What are strata? And what is the stratification process? And of course we take on metamorphic rock. Heat and pressure....and a little squishing! The rock pictures in the video are from an awesome website: www.geology.com.
