We created this test to help our users troubleshoot some common issues when using SafeShare, especially when using it behind a school network. This test helps you find if any service that SafeShare relies on is being blocked so you can quickly fix the issue on your end! The list is divided into “Required”, which are essential for your SafeShare experience, and “Optional”, which aren’t essential but are used to enhance your SafeShare experience.
You should perform this test when you notice that some videos fail to play, or if some of SafeShare's functionalities seem to fail to work. Ideally, you should perform this test before contacting our support team, but if you contact us right away there's no problem at all and we'll gladly help!
First and foremost, if you are behind a school network, you should contact your IT department so they can unblock the sites. If you hover your cursor over those little info icons next to the sites, you will see a brief explanation of why we use them in case your IT department asks (or if you're wondering it yourself).
Launched as a beta version in 2009, SafeShare has gained popularity as the safest way to watch and share YouTube and Vimeo videos, and is widely used all around the globe by educators so their students can watch educational material without the fear of inappropriate videos showing up.
