TEENS H2O Water Workshop 3 Life On, Along, Above and Below the River
Students as Citizen Scientists Eco Sense the Life On, Along, Above and Below the Chicago River Walk learning about STEAM Careers. A river is an ecosystem that supports human and non-human life. In a city, human life is connected to the water and living things inside the river and the plants, animals, and non-living components of the riverbanks. The Chicago River system is 156 miles long, but its surrounding watershed covers 674 square miles. The health of the river is affected by everything in the air, in the buildings, in the water, the streets and human activity. A healthy river means healthy water for a city and for all the living things water supports. This workshop is a collaboration between The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the NEXT.cc E-Learning Designopedia, Friends of the Chicago RIver and Chicago LIne Cruises offering on, along, abive,a nd below the river experiences for Chicago Teens..Workshops are supported by The Chicago Community Trust, Hive Chicago, and the S
