How To Start A Note! (Articulation)
Teaching Artist Ruaridh Pattison teaches how to play start a note on the recorder. In music this is called 'articulation'. This video is from Recorders Without Borders, a S'Cool Sounds program intended for second through fifth graders. Students will learn how to play the recorder - focusing on sound production, articulation, and fingerings - while "traveling the world" through the exploration of music from different cultures. Young musicians will also use body percussion, rhythm exercises, and other interactive musical activities to develop general music skills. The videos can be used either in the classroom or at home during remote learning.
