This syllable song helps children hear the syllables in 1, 2 and 3 syllable words and helps them develop their phonological awareness skills. The syllable song is clear and catchy and it engages children with not only visuals of the words, but also fun movements (clapping, stomping and chomping with their arms.) This syllable song is perfect for kinesthetic (visual) learners. They participate with singing (auditory) seeing the words (visual) and doing the movements, clap, stomp and chomp to each syllable (kinesthetic.) Your children can also participate by counting out loud the number of syllables in each word that is presented as they are clapping, stomping and chomping. Counting the syllables can easily be included in this activity. Syllabication is an important skill in developing phonological awareness which is essential to helping our children become successful readers. Your children will have fun clapping, stomping and chomping as they get great practice hearing the syllables
