UNION TERMINAL (Brad Underwood) -- Some of the region's brightest and youngest minds put their innovations on display Saturday afternoon. 9-year-old Gus Kleinfeldt has the perfect way to pick up his toys. It's called the GK Baseball Picker Upp-er."All you have to do is press down and it picks them up, said Gus.Gus wasn't the only person who thought it was a good idea, so did the judges.11-year-old Yashmit Deshpande was also a winner. The Y-Alert Bumper Display System is not only innovative, but could actually save lives on the road."Say that Im driving and I suddenly spot a deer on the side of the road, said Yashmit. I will be able to notice and tell other drivers that there's a deer. You never know if that deer will come out on the road and the car behind you could crash into that deer."And because you're behind the wheel, the notification is voice activated.
