Piano Trio (1937) 1. Adagio non troppo - Allegro vivace - Largamente [0:00] 2. Tempo di marcia [7:45] 3. Largo - Allegro vivo e molto ritmico [11:20] An early work for piano, violin and cello by American composer, conductor and pianist Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990), composed while he was a 19-year-old undergraduate student at Harvard University. It was not published until four decades later in 1979. The music is written in a playful, acerbic and sometimes dissonant but firmly tonal idiom, with elements of neoclassicism and the influence of folk music. The Australian Piano Trio Violin: Donald Hazelwood Cello: Susan Blake Piano: Michael Brimer
